The Lord's Supper

The LORD'S SUPPER: The Lord’s Supper (often called Holy Communion) is a symbolic remembrance of Christ, His life, suffering and death for our salvation142.  The two elements received during the Lord’s Supper are the bread, representing Christ’s body, and the cup of the fruit of the vine, representing His blood of the New Covenant and the forgiveness of sins143.  Only born-again believers144 who have carefully examined themselves, and taken any necessary actions of repentance and reconciliation, should partake of the Lord’s Supper145.  When we partake of the Lord's Supper we are reminded of His return146 and we look forward with great hope.
