SPIRITUAL
GIFTS:We are commanded to be filled with the
Holy Spirit70. And the evidence of His presence in our lives will
be the fruit of the Spirit71. His fullness, power and control are
appropriated in the believer's life by faith. We practice the laying
on of hands for the empowering of the Spirit72 and for recognition
and empowering of those whom God has ordained to lead and serve
the Church. We also believe and practice that the Bible teaches
that if someone is sick they may call for the elders of the church
to come and anoint them with oil and pray for them73. We believe
in the present ministry of the Spirit74 and in the exercise of all
of the biblical gifts of the Spirit75. We believe in the gifts of
the Holy Spirit mentioned in the Scriptures, and that they are valid
for today if they are exercised within the Scriptural guidelines
and under the oversight of the eldership of the local church. We
as believers are to covet the best gifts, seeking to exercise them
in love that the whole Body of Christ might be edified. We believe
that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and
without this love all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless76.
